MY PARIS
PARIS DESIGN WEEK, 09.02-10.2020
September marks a time in the design calendar where we look to Paris for inspiration. In a normal year, many of us would be travelling there to take part in the exhibitions or following closely on social media. Instead, to mark this celebration, join us on a virtual trip through Paris curated by some of our favourite design collaborators to learn what they are missing in the “City of Light”.
“The garden is an exquisite refuge in the middle of the city. It’s allure is equal parts nature, history and the opportunity to people watch. It’s a rare place where you’ll see Parisians from all walks of life relax and unwind on their way to and from the bustle of the city”
“My favourite place in Paris is sitting outside on the terrace at Café Marly during “magic hour” when the sun is going orange and producing that lovely warm light just before it starts to set.”

“The garden of the Fondation Cartier is a wild thought that runs through the progressive, transparent architecture by Jean Novel. The green space designed by artist, Lothar Baumgarten, it is an ever evolving work in progress.”
The energy of Paris Design Week brings good ideas and people together. Over the next few days some of my industry faves will share their favourite places in Paris to transport us to the moments we are missing.

“Musée de l’Orangerie, in the summer evening, when the oculus lets the sunset in and the colours of Monets ‘Les Nymphéas’ change in front of you.”
96 Quai de Jemmapes, 75010 Paris
“When France won the finals and was going to the World Cup — we watched one of the games at the cute little restaurant attached. An unforgettable experience!”
Place Georges-Pompidou, 75004 Paris
“Travelling along Rue du Renard you get the best view of the Pompidou Centre. More urban in its setting and dynamic in the facade. It is one of the best contemporary architecture experiences not just in Paris but across the world. Catch it with the right light its impact is breathtaking.”
“This place has become an icon for good meat in Paris and the crowd can be as eclectic as the place itself. A former butcher house this restaurant will make you feel like you are in a movie, and something is about to happen.”
